  • S1The denominator (φ_μ+ε)/φ_ρ − (εδ/φ_ρ)f″² vanishes when δf″² → φ_μ + ε: near that shear level the truncated Powell–Eyring model degenerates (f‴ → ∞). Keep parameter sweeps inside the range where the denominator stays positive — this is a model validity limit, not a solver failure.
